At a recent meeting of the Huntingbridge Borough Council it was agreed that the funding for the centrally based safety event called 'Safety Stations' would unfortunately have to be withdrawn. Councillor Fred Bates stated that due to the present economic climate the funding just could not be found for this year.
Councillor Michael Tornton stated that he thought this was very short-sighted as it might mean that children were being placed in danger by not taking part in this important educational event.
Councillors agreed that they would consider a lower cost option if this was available..................................
